Early in his life, Splugg was a nobody. A goblin, smaller than his pack mates, who was constantly bullied and picked on. Eventually caught cheating at gambling, Splugg was thrown into a cell by his “friends” and left to die within the sub-basement of an old keep. This keep, created on a rift of the Shadowfell, would soon after be raided by the Singing Mercenaries. Splugg saw his opportunity when the Singers found him, and after much begging and prostrating was spared and even freed by the mercenaries.

Following the group, Splugg became obsessed with Valmir, the party’s warlock. Aloof and mysterious, Splugg was fascinated with the arcane power that the warlock wielded. Guiding the party into the deeper parts of the keep, Splugg eventually tried to save Valmir from the attacks of the death cultist Kalarel by throwing himself in front of a bolt of dark magics.

The party won, but Splugg was gravely injured, and the Singers believed him dead. Barely clinging to life, Splugg received a vision in his death throws of a beautiful woman with alabaster skin and raven black hair. This woman told him that he had set foot upon his true destiny, and taught him the art of the assassin within his dreams. When Splugg awoke, he found his wounds healed, and his soul bound to the darkness of the Shadowfell.

Training as hard as possible, Splugg followed the Singers and his “Master” Valmir as closely as he dared, always staying hidden. Biding his time, Splugg patiently waited for the chance to make himself useful.
